Hello...

Work on sfRVN website continues to be sporadic. There have been some significant additions to the website. You will find many new pictures pertaining to Special Forces in Vietnam. These new pictures can be found in the Info from other vets section. (Use Navigation Menu on left.) This addition is unique by virtue of the fact that VBSdb (Use Navigation Menu on left for more info on VBSdb.) is used to generate the pages that display the photos.

Using that same  technique, the website now boasts a
searchable database of my Corvette memorabilia -- complete with pictures. (You will find this feature under On-line Databases in the Nav Menu.) These additions required  much work -- setting up the databases, creating the web page code, and (in the case of the Corvette data) taking over 700 photographs!  I hope you find the information interesting.

Lastly, special 'Thanks!' go Bill King, Art Peters, and Darlye Nobles for their photo contributions. If you have info that you would like included on sfRVN.net, drop me an email. I always look forward to hearing from website visitors.

A Navigation Menu on the left side of the page contains links that allow you to move quickly to and from various places in the website. You can use this menu to quickly access various locations and features of the website. br />
About sixteen years ago, I created a group of websites about what it was like to be a Green Beret in Viet Nam. For several years this group of websites is rated by the Special Forces Search Engine as the most-visited personal website. Now you can get a glimpse of SF Vietnam service. You can access these websites by clicking "...the SF Vietnam experience" link in the Nav Menu on the left side of this web page. While you are there, check out one of *my* favorite pages It describes what it was like to go 'on patrol' or as we called it...   'a trip to the boonies'. It is in the A-103 section. Click the link "a trip to the boonies".

The location of Special Forces operations may have changed, but the hardships and sacrifices continue...

I have also included what I consider to be special websites. These websites are my favorites, because they describe my feelings and the code I (try to) live by. Watch the 'Interview with God'... does it make you think about how we humans spend our lives? And the Desiderata? If everyone in this world adhered to the principals described in this document by Max Ehrmann (1872-1945), we would not need Special Forces. There is also a new link: Born Again American. Why is it we can sing about it but can never put it into action?1? Are our country's leaders deaf or do they simply don't care?

I have included a new section: Guitar Music. This section contains some absolutely awesome guitar videos!! Check it out!

My updates will include the addition of a User registration and login feature. When this functionality is completed, you will be able to login on sfRVN.net and access special features and resources. These special sections, such as forum and on-line databases, will only be available to sfRVN.net members. In preparation for bringing the User account module on-line, I have restricted access to some of the special sections. If a Nav Menu choice says 'Unavailable', it means the section is now reserved for sfRVN.net members only.

I have included some links to other Special Forces websites. Please note that I simply copied them from my 'old' website. As such, these links may no longer be valid.

Steve Sherman has some great information about Special Forces in Southeast Asia available on his website Special Forces Books . A link in the left-hand navigation menu provides a partial list of his books, CDs, and tapes. The Green Beret Magazine reprints are especially nice! Grab a set before they are gone!

Lastly, I plan on a section describing the network, computer, and web services I offer. Frankly, this section ranks lowest on my priority list. If you need computer help or training, send me an email. I am available for on-site IT Support. Lately, I have been working on Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft SQL 2008.

Well, thanks for stopping by. I hope you find the sfRVN.net website interesting. And for you guys who, like me, spent time in that little country far away... Welcome home!
